$10 Million Fund to Affordable Housing!
San Mateo County Creates $10 Million Fund to Preserve Affordable Housing
The San Mateo County Board of Supervisors recently created a $10 million housing fund to preserve affordable housing units. Affordable housing developers and operators can get loans to buy existing affordable multi-family rental housing, as long as they do not displace existing tenants and keep rents affordable for 30 years or more. The loans can also be used to improve the quality and condition of a property as long as rents remain stable and renters are not displaced.
